1. Call to Order/ Roll Call: 1:02 PM
2. Approval of S. MLK Jr. CIA Meeting Minutes (01.15.26) -Action
Motion: Howard Support: Schmidgall
Passed unanimously
3. Approval of the FY 2026/2027 Budget
The board reviewed the proposed budget. After an informative
conversation about the CIAs funding and spending plans, the board
moved to approve.
Motion: Schmidgall Support: Matthews
Passed unanimously
4. Discussion on 2026 Spending Plan
The board members discussed the proposed projects and added
some additional dollars for some categories.
Motion: Schmidgall Support: Sober
5. Other Business
Member White expressed her desire to engage more with the
community and implement key initiatives. This led voting to the
board establishing the “Public Engagement Committee”.
Motion: White Support: Howard
The Public Engagement Committee may consist of board members
Defrees and White, along with Paul Anderson and Kahleea Washington.
Paul Anderson discussed the new housing development at the
former Metro Bowl.
