HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Service Minutes 02.12.26 REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF PUBLIC SERVICE FEBRUARY 12, 2026 PRESENT: Nancy Mahlow, Hugh McNichol, Ronald Wilson, Jason Wilkes, Thomas Hickson, and Tracy Tanner ABSENT: Mark Clouse, and Samara Morgan STAFF: Andrew Kilpatrick, Jeremiah Kilgore, and Eric Thelen VISITORS: None 1) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Wilkes called the meeting to order at 11:33 a.m., at the City of Lansing Wastewater Treatment Plant. a. Roll Call b. Excused Absences: Mark Clouse, and Samara Morgan 2) ADJUSTMENTS/APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Chair Wilkes requested approval of the agenda, Ms. Mahlow moved, Ms. Tanner seconded, and MOTION CARRIED, to approve the agenda as submitted. 3) APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES: January 8, 2026 Chair Wilkes requested approval of the minutes, Ms. Mahlow moved, Mr. McNichol seconded, and MOTION CARRIED to approve the minutes as submitted. 4) CITIZEN COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS: None 5) ACTION ITEMS: Public Service Department Annual Report: After discussion and questions, Ms. Mahlow moved, Mr. Hickson seconded, and MOTION CARRIED to approve with revisions. 6) REPORT OF OFFICERS: Operations and Maintenance/CART Division: A written report was distributed. In the absence of Mr. Arnold, Deputy Director Kilgore gave a brief overview of the report. Discussion and questions followed. Wastewater Division: A written report was distributed. Mr. Thelen gave a brief overview of the report. Discussion and questions followed. Public Service Board Page 2 February 12, 2026 7) DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Director Kilpatrick reported on the following: Waverly Rd Project and Michigan Avenue Project data study with Public Meetings for both, answered questions on the Data Center, answered questions about snow plowing and salt, answered questions on the BWL (RICE) Plant, answered questions on pothole problems on MDOT streets and trash service update. 8) UNFINISHED BUSINESS: City trees - replacement tree option, correct size and species will be available, allowing residents to remove trees would be at their cost. Tree policy is being created. Light poles – BWL will paint them to keep same color, but replacements might look different as some are obsolete. 9) NEW BUSINESS: None 10) COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION ITEMS: None 11) CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS: None 12) ITEMS FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE RULES: None 13) ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned at 12:53 p.m. Respectfully submitted by, Janette Tate, Recording Secretary
