MEETING MINUTES

1. ROLL CALL: See above - quorum present.
2. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO AGENDA: – None
3. AGENDA APPROVAL: Brian moved, Courtney seconded – approved unanimously.
4. BOARD MEETING MINUTES – No meeting minutes printed. Brian moved to approve the
January minutes at the next meeting – approved unanimously.
January 15, 2026
5. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Grant Learning Session
• Sessions are completed, and help is available one-on-one.
• Robin is working with groups to fill out the application online.
• Flo stated the last learning session was on Feb. 17. That was rescheduled from Feb. 3.
B. Grant Status Report
• Robin said there are 15 mini-grants, 1 sign topper, and 23 neighborhood group grants
started.
• Walking Wednesdays, they have zero applications, and the office is going to create a
separate flyer to promote. They may also keep it open beyond the March deadline.
• Tristan recommended the Moores Park Neighborhood for a Walking Wednesday as
the Moores Park Pool will be opened this summer.
• Grant funding was discussed.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
A. None
7. STATEMENTS OF CITIZENS
Niklas Zande, president of the Old Everett Neighborhood Association, spoke
about submitting their grants for a summer picnic and a winter holiday party. They also
submitted a mini-grant and a Neighborhoods in Bloom grant.
Michele Fickes from the Parks Leisure Board spoke about signage for all four community
centers. They asked whether to submit under the NAB grant or the parks grant. It was suggested
that this project be submitted to the parks board grants.
Amy Dyer from Capital City Family BMX, along with John and Ricki McDermott, Elida
Beeman, and Nathan Ely, discussed their grant request for a new timing gate and support for the
CCFBMX track. They passed out a handout that included images of the gate and CCFBMX
support information. They also look to have a grant request for a new quad. They mentioned that
the track and Gier park usage information will be added to their application. And, a beginner
class will be taught there this summer.
8. UPDATES
A. Mayor Updates - None
B. DNACE Updates
• Robin said the office is going paperless and they are working on scanning.
• The warming center has been going well at Letts.
• Board members will get access to the platform again as soon as this weekend to
review grants.
• The mini-grants process for reviewing was discussed.
