Michigan Avenue Corridor Improvement Authority Board of Director’s Meeting Friday, January 16, 2026 – 8:30 AM Foster Community Center 200 N. Foster Ave., Room 211 Lansing, MI 48910 Members Present: Jon Lum, Katherine (Katie) Hubbard, L. Chair Lum made a motion to add an agenda item for Member Blamer Approval of November 2025, MACIA Meeting Minutes – Action MOTION: Motion: Clark seconded: Daman YEAS: Unanimous. Motion carried. Public Comment Amiee Evans introduced herself to the board. Member Update Member Baumer provided an update that the Community Foundation will focus on the riverfront and reduce support on Michigan Ave. Member Baumer also announced that she will be stepping
down. Update on Block 2000
Scott Gillespe gave an update on the contractors’ work, which has been delayed due to the
weather.

Discussion on 2026 Priorities
Chair Lum expressed his desire to have a part-time staff member who acts as an executive
director for the authority. Member Daman highlighted the need for a better communication
system with the community to achieve greater success with future projects.
Member Baumer explained that without a staff member supporting the board, they will fail.
The board discussed their desire to have corridor banners installed with the branding, “Your
Place To Be”.
The board also expressed the need for a list of businesses in the corridor and a mailing list.
Other Business
The board rescheduled the April Meeting to the April 10th .
Member Baumer informed the group of plans for a new homeless day shelter coming to the
area.
Guest Scott Gilespie provided an update on the MSU Daycare facility coming to the
corridor.
The group discussed having an event on the avenue and the need for additional security on
the area.
Adjournment: 9:45 AM Chair Lum moved to adjourn the meeting.
