AFFIDAVIT OF DISCLOSURE
On behalf of the City and as permitted by Section 209.04(n)of the Ethics Ordinance,the Law
Department, Finance Department and Personnel Department have taken part, and continue to take
part, in collective bargaining matters and negotiations with City employee bargaining units. As part
of a labor reduction initiative for the upcoming fiscal year,the administration, through its collective
bargaining team, is in discussions and negotiations with unions that include possible prospective
changes in retirement benefits and eligibility in the City's retirement systems. These retirement
benefits discussions and negotiations with the collective bargaining units may also result in the
benefits being made available to certain non-bargaining groups, including exempt employees.
As part of the law office's employment duties,the Law Department will be requested to draft
the appropriate retirement benefit changes to the Lansing Employees Retirement System ordinance
and the Police and Fire Retirement System ordinance,and to provide other legal assistance regarding
the changes. I may be a potential recipient of the benefits of the above changes. I may also work on
drafting the ordinance amendment and be responsible for explaining the changes to City employees.
