I wanted to honestly proclaim my part-time employment with the Lansing State Journal as a night
time computer print operator.
The position is within the newspaper's Circulation Department/information Systems and I print
out the nightly reports that determine how many newspapers are to be printed the following
morning. I also printout billing statements and complaint reports too that are used by various
personnel within the Business/Circulation Departments of the Lansing State Journal and other
affiliate Gannet publications. I have no other association with any other departments within the
Lansing State Journal.
My working hours at the Lansing State Journal are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. depending on
how many reports need to be printed for that night. On average, I work 3.5 hours a night/two
days a week.
The hours/days that I work part-time evenings for the Lansing State Journal do not interfere with
my day job responsibilities as a day Computer Operator for the City of Lansing which begin at
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F.
To the best of my ability and the guidelines of ethical conduct as specified in the City of Lansing
Ethics Ordinance, as provided for in the Code or Ordinances and in the City Charter, I see no
conflict of interest with my part-time employment with the Lansing State Journal.
