I am a registered and licensed electrical contractor. I have a one-man weekend business. I was in business full-time for three years prior to starting with the City of Lansing. Prior to that I contracted part-time for approximately 15 years. I desire to continue my part-time electrical contracting which I do out-side the City of Lansing city limits. I do not believe that this is inin violation of Chapter 290, Section 290.01 of the City of Lansing Code of Ordinances and would like to have the Board of ethics review this matter considering the following facts: 1. All of the electrical contracting is performed outside of the city limits. I understand that if I were to contract inside that would be a conflict of interest due to permits and possible inspec- tion of my own work. 2. I do not do any public advertising. My work comes from the many acquaintances I have from my years in business. 3. I do not knowingly bid against other electrical contractors. 4. When electrical permits are required, I obtain them from the proper jurisdiction and have the work inspected. Again, this would not be in the City. 5. I meet all the State of Michigan requirements to be in business as an electrical contractor. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with the committee and answer any question you may have before making a final determination. 5. I hereby certify that this disclosure is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge, information and belief. 6. I hereby certify that I have not solicited or entered into any agreement with the City of Lansing prior to filing this affidavit.
