One of my elder brothers holds the position of Technical Consuftant for Technoloqv
Integration with Deere&Company. One John Deere Place Moline Illinois He has
worked for Deere &Company or John Deere proper for nearly 33 years As the Fleet
Planner for the Lansing Board of Water& Light I sometimes find myself in the position of
recommending to Departmental Management the purchase of equipment manufactured
by John Deere. My iob. as 1 see ft is to atways recommend the purchase of
vehicles/equipment that achieve the'Best Value'for the BWL There are times when
that means purchasing John Deere equipment However, there are other times when it
means purchasing equipment manufactured by Caterpillar Case Komatsu Link-Belt or
any one of a number of different manufactures I will admit to having a personal affinitv
for John Deere equipment as when growing up on the farm most of my Father's
equipment was John Deere. This affinity is akin to someone else's preference for
Oldsmobile automobiles for example Personally I prefer Ford vehicles but recommend
the purchase of light vehicles manufactured by General Motors in the vast majority of
cases because buying GM generally is the best choice for the BWL 1 respectfully submit
to you that my brother's position and history with John Deere has no influence on my
purchasing recommendations
