Affidavit of Disclosure
Alpha Training Center, LLC is a private motorcycle safety training provider. ATC is
in my name and flows through to the joint tax return for my husband and me.
We currently rent the Lot 6, a.k.a the Triangle Property from the City of Lansing for
our training program. This lot has been sold to a private developer. We have an offer
to purchase property located at 2200 S. Washington in Lansing from Ingham County.
If we are successful in our negotiations with the County, a yet to be named LLC will
own the lot. We intended to apply for Brownfield and TIF financing along with
traditional financing for the construction of the classroom and storage building. We
also plan to use any federal and state funds available through the Lansing and Michigan
EDC for any required environmental evaluations and work.
This process began prior to my appointment to the City Treasurer's position. We are
not asking for anything beyond what is available to any businessperson seeking to
locate their business in Lansing.
If necessary, I can have corporate counsel represent the new LLC during any City
hearings or meetings for the Brownfield and TIF. In addition, the City Assessor can
monitor tax payments and any other transactions relating to this property, as he is not
in my line of supervision and reports to the Mayor's Chief of Staff. It is my
understanding that any development agreements that may result from Brownfield or
TIF funding will be between the Lansing EDC and our yet to be named LLC.
