In your consideration of the affidavit, which I have submitted, allow me to further
explain my position and intent.
Currently, I also am employed as a part-time instructor at Lansing Community
College. This past week renovation plans arrived in our department for the library at
LCC. I informed Mr. Jack Nelson that I felt it was not in the department's best interest to
have me do the plan review and so the project is now assigned to another plan review
analyst. I will not intentionally jeopardize myself, my position as plan review analyst, this
department I work for, or the City of Lansing in a dual relationship or a conflict of
interest.
This ethical position also applies to the limited amount of remodel work that I
may do entirely outside the limits and jurisdiction of the City of Lansing.
I hope this clarifies not only my present ethical position but also addresses any
future cases that appear before myself or this department.
