City of Lansing
As your new Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Lansing, I have been asked to
detail my compensated off-duty activities for examination by the Board, for
Conflict of Interest. I am currently involved in the following organizations:
A. Lansing Community College. I serve as a part-time faculty member, and
teach in the evenings. I will not partake in any activities that could
potentially be a monetary arrangement between the city and the college.
B. State of Michigan. On occasional weekends, I teach Fire Officer seminars
throughout the state.
C. Mason Fire Department. This is a paid-on-call Fire Department of which
I've been a member for many years, both as a firefighter, and as a command
officer. I have given up my command rank as of September 201h to eliminate
potential conflicts with my ability to respond to emergencies in the City of
Lansing.
Sincerely,
a"/(
