Mr. John Mertz, Chairperson, and
Members of the City of Lansing Board of Ethics
--HAND DELIVERED--
Dear.Members,
I would like the Board's opinion as to whether I am in conflict voting on the
Sparrow Hospital proposal which is pending before the City Council.
As everyone knows, I was a very active member of the Ingham Medical
Hospital Board for approximately 20 years. Presently, I am a member of the
Development Council which is the fundraising arm of the hospital. I continue
to be very active in raising funds for the hospital.
In addition, I have been involved in fundraising for Lansing General Hospital
and am currently serving on the Development Council for Saint Lawrence
Hospital.
I do not want to go ahead and vote on this issue and have someone raise the
question after my vote has been cast, as to whether there is a conflict.
The City Council will be voting on this matter on Tuesday, July 6, 1993. It
would be appreciated if I could receive your opinion prior to this date.
