WHEREAS, Chief Sturdivant's employment contract with the
City of Lansing is set to expire on December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Lansing Board of Fire Commissioners received
a request from Mayor Schor, to concur with his decision not to
renew Chief Sturdivant's employment contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Lansing Board of Fire
Commissioners concurs with the Mayor's decision to not renew
Chief Sturdivant's employment contract after its expiration on
December 31, 2025; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, the Lansing Board of Fire
Commissioners commends Mayor Schor's decision to appoint
Assistant Chief Carrie Edwards -Clemons to serve as Interim
Fire Chief.
Adopted by the Lansing Board of Fire Commissioners at its
special -called meeting on December 16, 2025.
