Capitol Ave. at 6:00 pm, June 27, 2013 The June 2013 meeting of the City of Lansing Demolition Board was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Scott Sanford. The following members were in attendance: David Muylle MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: S. Sanford; L. Puente; Tina Thomas PUBLIC PRESENT: James Bennett NEW BUSINESS Case No.:2013-004 Address: 1116 E. Kalamazoo Street -- S. Sanford read estimate and reasons for demolition. The listed taxpayer of record has not responded to any certified notifications or posting that was placed on the dwelling, and did not attend the meeting..No public comment Demolitions Hearing Officer Dave Muylle ordered the property be made safe or demolished by June 27, 2013. NEW BUSINESS: Case No.: 2013-003 Address: 1304 Glenrose Ave. S. Sanford presented the case. S. Sanford read the estimate and reasons for demolition. The owner did sign for the letters regarding the intent to demolish but has not responded to our office and did not attend the meeting. No comment from the public Demolitions Hearing Officer Dave Muylle ordered the property be made safe or demolished by June 27, 2013. Case No.: 2013-002 Address: 521 Fenton. S. Sanford presented the case. S. Sanford read estimate and reasons for demolition. The listed taxpayer of record did sign the certified letters stating our intent to demolish. The owner did not attend the meeting however, the owner came into the office the next day and stated they were unable to attend the meeting. The owner stated the mortgage company at the time sold the mortgage to another company and that company took all the fund's from the M:\Minutes\052710mindraft.doc home owners insurance company and they were to be in control of hiring the contractors and repairs. The mortgage company did start the process and pulled permits 4/30/2012. The permits are now expired and per Transnation's title work report the Building Contractor Samuel L. Stephens Jr. had filed a lien against the property due to non payment by the mortgage company. The owner explained she has been displaced from her property since the fire and her homeowners insurance did pay her first years rent but that has now stopped and she has quit making her mortgage payment due to that fact. The mortgage company and the contractor were also notified of the demolition boards decision. Demolitions Hearing Officer Dave Muylle ordered the property be made safe or demolished by June 27, 2013. OTHER BUSINESS: None PUBLIC COMMENT: None ADJOURNMENT: At 6:30 PM, S. Sanford adjourned the meeting.
