I.ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA
II.BOARD MEETING MINUTES
A. Approval of the April 9th, 2025 Minutes Postponed until the June Meeting.
III.NEW BUSINESS
A. Mowing – Some trees have been damaged in Hunter Park during mowing. Staff does not
remove tree guards. The department is working with the lawn maintenance crews to pick up trash
prior to mowing.
B. 609 – 609 N Verlinden – Adjacent to Osborn Park – Dawn Glassay spoke with the board about
a lot that is adjacent to Scribbles and Giggles Daycare. This lot is a green space and is currently
privately owned and is currently being leased to a construction company parking for construction
equipment. Dawn commented that the lot would make a nice extension of Osborn Park. The
director will reach out to the current owner and Dawn will be in contact with the neighborhood
association.
IV.OLD BUSINESS
A. Art Path – The Arts Commission does not currently have the capacity to organize Art Path. The
department is currently looking for alternative organizations to be able to facilitate art being placed
for public display on the River Trail in the area that was used previously for Art Path.
B. Parks 5-Year Master Plan - The Board received the results of the community feedback sessions
and the survey. The Board will be reviewing these results and building action steps for the next 5
Year Master Plan.
C. Rueter Fountain – The Department is putting an RFP to do an engineering assessment and
design for the repair of the Rueter Fountain. Once the results are in then it would be put out for
construction bids.
V.UPDATES
Strikeout Baseball – June 6th will be the grand opening of Strikeout Baseball.
The budget is up for approval next week by City Council.
Hiring is currently ongoing for summer camps.
The Hunter Park Pool is being filled.
A tree has been dedicated for Jodi Ackerman at the Foster Center
The department is dedicating 6 trees at Stabenaw Park on Memorial Day

VIII.REMARKS BY BOARD MEMBERS
Isaac Francisco: Thanked the Scott Woods Neighborhood Organization for their efforts in cleaning
and landscaping Scott Woods Park.
Tirstan Walters: Wanted to thank the community organizations involved with the clean up days in
Old Town and Stabenow park
IX. STATEMENTS OF CITIZENS
All meetings of the Park Board shall be open to the public. Those in attendance shall have the
opportunity to speak on any issue related to parks and recreation services not otherwise on the
agenda at the end of the meeting and may speak on any agenda issue during the meeting after park
board members have had an opportunity to discuss the issue or prior to the board voting on the issue.
The President may impose a time limit on public comments.
Kim Ellinwood: Is pleased to announce that the automatic gate at Bancroft Park is being installed.
