2. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO AGENDA - None
3. AGENDA APPROVAL – Flo moved, Brian seconded – approved unanimously.
4. BOARD MEETING MINUTES – January 16, 2025 – Christopher moved, MaryBeth seconded –
approved unanimously.
5. NEW BUSINESS
A. Neighborhood Grant Idea Review
• Frederic McLaughlin – local architect
o Did not know much about our board, and asked if we were involved in zoning changes
(parking). We are not.
o We recommended other boards and groups to talk to, including Dept. of Economic
Development and Planning (EDP), Board of Zoning Appeals, and Strong Towns Group.
o Suggested he could create a friends group of zoning or similar civic organization to provide
education about it. Suggested he could put in a grant to fund an event for this group.
o Also recommended connecting with local neighborhood organizations such as SWAG or the
Southside Community Coalition.
6. OLD BUSINESS
A. Learning Sessions. The last learning session will be on Wed., Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in Letts Community Ctr.
• After this date, a group having grant questions can still call DNACE to schedule a meeting.
B. Neighborhood Grant 2024-2025 Portal is open:

• Maybe 45 grants submitted to date.
• Closes on March 7, 2025 at 5 p.m.
• Christopher requested that an old portal link (2024) be updated to the 2025 link on this web page:

7. UPDATES
A. Mayor Updates
• Mayor Schor is running for a third term this year.
• State of the City is Thursday, March 6.
B. DNACE Updates
• Grow Lansing Grant is still available at https://www.lansingmi.gov/1110/Grow-Lansing
• Parks & Recreation Grant Match Program is available at https://www.lansingmi.gov/892/Grants
o The deadline is March 1, but it is a rolling deadline until funds are used.
o Encourage groups to apply, but the project must be park-related.

8. STATEMENTS OF CITIZENS
All meetings of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Board shall be open to the public. Those in attendance
shall have the opportunity to speak on any issue related to neighborhood services not otherwise on the
agenda at the end of the meeting and may speak on any agenda issue during the meeting after board
members have had an opportunity to discuss the issue or prior to the board voting on the issue. The Chair
may impose a time limit on public comments.
