Call to Order/ Roll Call
Vice Chair Defrees called the meeting to order at 1:09
Approval of Meeting Minutes - Action
MOTION: Schmidgall motioned to approve the minutes, and Owsley seconded.
YEAS: Unanimous
Adoption of the S. MLK CIA FY 2025-2026 Budget-Action
The board had no further decision on the budget and moved to adopt it.
YEAS: Unanimous
Updates on Corridor Projects
Paul briefly updated the board on the SW Thrive Program kickoff the day before
the meeting.
Washington informed the group that Granger is available on June 14th for the
community cleanup event. The board discusses hosting a group pickup the day
before to prepare for the 14th. The board will work the Lansing EDC and City to
market the events.
Washington told the board she’d been talking to a property owner who plans to
come to the CIA to brainstorm about developing their land.
Discussion on Corridor TCP Projects
Chrisiti Nakajima provided an extensive overview of the ongoing TCP project as
the program comes to an end. She updated the board on her conversations
with the City of Lansing and MDOT regarding pedestrian safety initiatives along
the corridor.
Other Business
The board had a general discussion on the corridor initiatives.
Public Comment
The board and the public discussed things happening on the corridor openly, like
the upcoming BWL project.
