Approval of July 11, 2025 MACIA Meeting Minutes - Action
MOTION: Hubbard moved to approve the meeting minutes. Motion seconded by Gillespie.
YEAS: Unanimous. Motion carried.
Public Comment
No public comment from the Allen Neighborhood representatives.
Approval of Mowing Expenses
After a brief overview of the need for additional mowing services and the resolution, the board
approved.
Motion: Gillespie; Second by Clark.
Update on Block 2000
Member Gillespie provided an update on each business's façade improvement project.
The contracts were sent to the business owner this week and should be executed soon.

The board briefly discussed building/ key businesses for sale along the corridor.
Discussion on Business Services
Chair Lum provided an update on his discussion with a potential consultant. He proposed
hosting a workshop that could lead to one-on-one training for the business and funding for
branding materials.
There were discussions about partnering with the SBDC to host the workshop.
The conversation led to an overview on MACIA’s approach to reaching business owners
when hosting events or offering new opportunities. The authority discussed updating the
website and canvassing the area.
Other Business
The board entertained the idea of hosting a public event to bring the community out on the
Avenue.
Coordinating the event and getting community participation are anticipated complications.
The members decided to plan a spring event.

Chair Lum adjourned the Michigan Avenue Board of Directors at 9:22 a.m.
