HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014 Election Commission MinutesOfficial Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting March 5, 2014 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 10:10 a.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk William Fowler, City Assessor Others Present: Brian Jackson, Chief Deputy Clerk Bruce Utter, City Election Coordinator Monica Zuchowski, Assistant Clerk I. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Fowler to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission meeting of March 5, 2014. Motion carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. Ill. Consideration of Precinct Consolidation for May 6, 2014 Election Moved by City Assessor Fowler to approve the resolution to consolidate precincts for the Lansing School Special Election to be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Motion carried. V. New Business City of Lansing administering the May 6th election on behalf of Windsor Township, City of East Lansing and Delhi Township. VI. Adjournment Adjourned at 10:14 a.m. Official Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission April 8, 2014 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 10:00 a.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk William Fowler, City Assessor Others Present: Brian Jackson, Chief Deputy City Clerk Monica Zuchowski, Assistant Clerk I. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Fowler to approve the minutes of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of March 5, 2014. Motion Carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Establishment of AV Counting Boards for May 6, 2014 Election Moved by City Assessor Fowler to approve the establishment of the AV Counting Boards for the May 6, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Motion Carried. IV. Assignment of Election Inspectors for May 6, 2014 Election Moved by City Assessor Fowler to adopt the proposed assignments of the Election Inspectors as submitted for the May 6, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Motion Carried. V. New Business There was no new business. VI. Adjournment Adjourned at 10:05 a.m. Official Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting April 29, 2014 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 2:10 p.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk William Fowler, City Assessor Others Present: Brian Jackson, Chief Deputy Clerk Bruce Utter, Election Coordinator Monica Zuchowski, Assistant Clerk I. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Fowler to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission meeting of March 5, 2014. Motion carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Public Test The Election Commission performed the Public Accuracy Test. Moved by City Assessor Fowler to accept the results of the Public Accuracy Test. Motion carried. V. New Business The Clerk's office has received a letter from an attorney, who works with the Democratic Party on election day, regarding the polling place at Grace Lutheran Church. The Clerk will follow-up. VI. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Fowler to approve the minutes of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of April 29, 2014. Motion Carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Establishment of AV Counting Boards for August 5, 2014 Election Moved by City Attorney McIntyre to approve the establishment of the AV Counting Boards for the August 5, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Motion Carried. IV. Assignment of Election Inspectors for August 5, 2014 Election Moved by City Attorney McIntyre to adopt the proposed assignments of the Election Inspectors as submitted for the August 5, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Fowler to approve the minutes of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of July 8, 2014. Motion Carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Public Test of the Election Equipment Moved by City Assessor Fowler to accept the results of the Public Accuracy Test. Motion Carried. IV. New Business There was no new business. V. Adjournment Adjourned at 2:41 p.m. Official Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission October 7, 2014 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 10:00 a.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk Janene McIntyre, City Attorney Others Present: Brian Jackson, Chief Deputy City Clerk Monica Zuchowski, Assistant Clerk I. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Attorney McIntyre to approve the minutes of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of July 29, 2014, as corrected. Motion Carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Establishment of AV Counting Boards for November 4, 2014 Election Moved by City Attorney McIntyre to approve the establishment of the AV Counting Boards for the November 4, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Motion Carried. IV. Assignment of Election Inspectors for August 5, 2014 Election Moved by City Attorney McIntyre to adopt the proposed assignments of the Election Inspectors as submitted for the November 4, 2014 Election, and authorize the City Clerk to make adjustments as necessary. Motion Carried. V. New Business The City Clerk announced that in 2015 the location of several polling places will need to be changed. VI. Adjournment Adjourned at 10:06 a.m. Official Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission October 28, 2014 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 2:07 p.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk William Fowler, City Assessor Don Kulhanek, Chief Deputy City Attorney Others Present: Bruce Utter, Election Coordinator Monica Zuchowski, Clerk's Office I. Approval of Minutes Moved by Chief Deputy Attorney Kulhanek to approve the minutes of the City Election Commission Meeting of October 28, 2014. Motion carried. II. Public Comment There was no public comment. III. Public Test The Election Commission performed the public accuracy test. Moved by Chief Deputy City Attorney Kulhanek to accept the results of the Public Accuracy Test. Motion Carried. IV. New Business There was no new business. V. Adjournment Adjourned at 2:33 p.m.
