HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008 Election Commission MinutesOfficial Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission January 4, 2008 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 2:07 p.m. Members Present: Chris Swope, City Clerk - r� Maria Irish, City Assessor Mark Leonard, Assistant City Attorney _ Others Present: Michelle Greko, City Clerk Secretary Bruce Utter, Election Coordinator 1. Approval of Minutes Moved by Assistant City Attorney Leonard to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of December 14, 2007. Motion Carried 11. Public Comment There was no public comment. Ill. Public Test The Election Commission performed the public accuracy test. Moved by City Assessor Irish to accept the results of the Public Accuracy Test. Motion carried IV. New Business City Clerk Swope stated that it is required to have a Chair and a Vice Chair of the Election Commission. City Clerk Swope stated that he is the Chair of the Committee and that a Vice Chair needs to be elected. Nomination was made by Assistant City Attorney Leonard for City Assessor Irish to be the Vice Chair of the Election Commission. Motion Carried V Adjournment Adjourned at 2:30 p.m. Official Proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission July 11, 2008 Meeting was called to order by City Clerk Swope at 2:18 p.m. Members Present: Others Present: 1. Approval of Minutes Chris Swope, City Clerk Maria Irish, City Assessor Mark Leonard, Assistant City Attorney Michelle Greko, City Clerk Secretary Bruce Utter, Election Coordinator Moved by City Assessor Irish to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of January 4, 2008. Motion Carried 11. Public Comment There was no public comment. 111. Establishment of AV Counting Boards for August 5, 2008 Election Moved by Assistant City Attorney Leonard to establish the Absentee Voter Counting Boards for the August 5, 2008 Primary Election. Motion Carried Assistant City Attorney Leonard asked if City Clerk Swope could explain the process of the AV Counting Board. City Clerk Swope explained how the AV Counting Board processed the AV Ballots. IV. Assignment of Election Inspectors for August 5, 2008 Moved by City Assessor Irish to adopt the proposed assignments of the Election Inspectors as submitted by Clerk Swope for the August 5, 2008 Primary Election and authorize the Clerk to make adjustments which may become necessary. Motion Carried V. New Business Moved by City Clerk Swope to schedule the Public Accuracy test for the next scheduled meeting of the Election Commission on July 25,'2008 at 10:00 a.m., at the Lansing City Clerk Election Unit located at 2500 S. Washington Avenue. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Irish to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of July 11, 2008. Motion Carried 11. Approval of Minutes Moved by City Assessor Irish to accept the printed proceedings of the City of Lansing Election Commission Meeting of July 25, 2008. Motion Carried - 11. Public Comment There was no public comment. 111.
