Board of Directors Meeting Friday, July 11, 2025 – 8:30 AM Lansing EDC Office - 401 S. Washington Sq. Suite 101, Lansing, MI 48933 MINUTES Members Present: Shelley Davis Boyd, Catherine Rathbun, Dr. Alane Laws- Barker, Jonathan Smith (left at 9:27 A.M.), Bryan Britten, Dr. Cristina Benton Members Absent: Calvin Jones, Chaz Carrillo, Rawley Van Fossen Staff Present: Kris Klein, Brian Swett Guests: Call to Order Chair Davis Boyd called the Lansing Economic Development Corporation meeting to order at 9:25 A.M. Approval of LEDC Board Meeting Minutes – Friday, June 20, 2025 (ACTION) MOTION: Member Britten moved to approve the LEDC meeting minutes from Friday, June 20, 2025, Board of Directors meeting, as presented. Motion seconded by Member Smith. YEAS: Unanimous; motion carried. Financial Update Swett offered updates on the Lansing EDC financials. Human Resources Survey Observations Chair Boyd gave a brief overview of results of the staff survey conducted by People Matters. Chair Boyd mentioned that progress on some of the recommendations were already underway but the Board expects updates on further improvements and suggested a continued partnership with People Matters in future implementation. LEDC Board of Directors Meeting: Friday, July 11, 2025 Meeting Minutes Page 2 of 2 Micro-Loan Program Report Watkins presented on the Lansing EDC’s Micro-Loan Program including status of current loans and pending applications. Open Forum for LEDC Board Members Member Rathbun discussed hosting a board gathering soon. Chair Boyd mentioned 517 Magazine has a women’s golf event coming up for those interested. Other Business Klein updated the Board on the status of Strategic Site Readiness Program agreements with NorthPoint for former Plant 6. Klein mentioned that residents are showing interest in the future redevelopment of the site and the Lansing EDC is hosting a community session to discuss the project with the public. Klein handed out flyers for the upcoming event. Klein discussed the Supporting Empowered Emerging Developers academy and that Board members are invited for the first cohort’s graduation event in August. Public Comment None.
