Call to Order: 5:30pm

Public Comments: None
Director’s Update:
• Completed homeless Meeting will be Sept. 25th
• Working on filling the vacancy on the committee
• Working with Mayor about DEIAB be part of the HRCS for the Racial Equity Grant.
Culture & Accountability Officers Update
• Planning and recommendations continue to work on pathways of accountability
• Bridging Opportunity Summit – Aug. 7th 9:30-3:30pm (hosted by LEAP)
• 2nd Annual Dance by the River Pow-WOW Sept. 27th and 28th
• Have an overview about the building for the new City Hall
• MI Indian Day of Care Day Sept. 26th via zoom
Standing Theme Update
• Justice & Safety – no report
• Economic Empowerment – Small Business Starter Kit from LEAP
• Community Sustainability – no report
Unfinished Business:
• Question: Are people who are helping with programs and events do they receive bias
training? (Homelessness Study)
o Can we create a list of thought questions for people to discuss in their
decision making
o Ask agency what type of training they have in the service of the community?

• Motion to compose a letter of support for the purchase of the Pods by Byron
supported Sharon
o Motion – 2 yes; 3 no
o Suggestion: People send individual letters
• Human Right ordinance was sent to the Mayor
Announcements
• AARP celebration of 90 anniversary of the SS act. At the Capital at 1pm (8/6/25)
