Michigan Ave., 9tn Floor, City Hall. Present: Cheval Breggins, Sena Dorleku, and Monica Martinez Absent: Rev. Kirklin Hall (unexcused), and Monica Martinez (excused) Staff: Willard Walker, Director, and Carol Walton Liaison: Captain Edward Forrest, Lansing Police Department (vacation) APPROVAL OF AGENDA July 19, 20v- PUBLIC COMMENT rlinutes No Report LPD LIASON S REPORT No Report COMMUNICATIONS ` Fn`t Do f None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Sena Dorleku moved to approve the minutes of September 21, October 19, and November 30, 2004, support by Cheval Breggins. Motion carried unanimous. DRAFT Human Relations and Community Services Advisory Board Minutes of July 19, 2005 Page 2 COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Program Committee Monica Martinez reported that the board took action regarding the department's budget and approved it for submission to City Council. Policy Committee No report PETITIONS/COMPLAINTS None CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT Monica updated the board on the LPD Community Complaint Discipline Taskforce stated that all complaints will be noted and timelines have now been set for filing complaints. Complaints filed with the LPD must be filed within sixty (60) days of the occurrence. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kip Gomoll reported that the budget is due at.the end of December. OLD BUSINESS a. Election of Officers Cheval Breggins nominated Monica Martinez for Chairperson, supported by Sena Dorleku. Monica Martinez accepted the nomination. Sena Dorleku nominated Cheval Breggins for Vice-Chairperson, supported by Monica Martinez. Cheval Breggins accepted the nomination. Cheval Breggins nominated Sena Dorleku for Secretary, supported by Monica Martinez. Sena Dorleku accepted the nomination. Cheval Breggins moved to approve the slate of officers, supported by Sena Dorleku. Motion carried unanimous. Resolution to honor and recognize the service of Gordon Steinhauer for his service to the HRCS Advisory Board and the community. Cheval and Monica will further discuss this issue and Willard Walker will assist. NEW BUSINESS None NEXT MEETING The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2004 at 6:00 p.m., 124 W. Michigan Ave., 9th Floor, City Hall. Note: The September meeting will be held on September 15, 2005. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
