The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by Mr. Morris and second by N[r. Smiley, motion carried. "Note," there was no meeting during the month of June, however, the minutes for the month of May were read and approved. A motion was made by Mr. Lutz and seconded by Mr. Peters, motion carried. Home Owner: There were no home owners seeking electrical permits. Old Business: The Electrical Board viewed our new permit. Price schedule for fiscai year 1998-1999 The Electrical Board members were given some 1996 National Electrical Code books at this meeting New Business The Electrical Board viewed and discussed the applicants for the Industry Representative on the Electrical Advisory Board. The Electrical Board also viewed a preliminary plan(s)for the proposed Legislative offices. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m. on July 21, 1998. The minutes of the April 21, 1998, meeting were read and approved on a motion by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Peters. Motion carried. Homeowner Permits, There were no homeowners applying for electrical permits. Old Business There was no old business. New Business The Electrical Board discussed at length the propose fee schedules for the various trades and the budget in general. The Electrical Board discussed the possibility of changing the alphabetical designation for the respective trade price schedule. The Board also conceded the ten percent (10%) recommendation was appropriate for the up-coming fiscal year. Homeowner Permits' There were no homeowners applying for electrical permits. Old Business There was some discussion on the electrical industry as well as talk of an international code(s). New Business There was a lengthy discussion on the Federal Emergency Management Association Rules (F.E.M.A.), as well as the U.B.C. Standards with respect to buildings in flood areas. The minutes of the January meeting were read and approved. Homeowner Permits There were no homeowners applying for electrical permits. Old Business There was a lengthy discussion regarding the State of Michigan adopting the 1996 National Electrical Code. There was discussion on why this process takes so long and the fact that the State of Michigan is always one code cycle behind. New Business The policy statement from Jack Nelson regarding Section 312 of the City of Lansing Uniform Building Code on U-Use Group type buildings was discussed. There were no minutes form the previous meeting (December 1997), however the Electrical Board discussed the Boards evaluation as well as our Industry Representative. Note: The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by Mr. Lutz and seconded by Mr. Morris, motion carried. Homeowner Permits There were no homeowners applying for electrical permits. Old Business Some old business was discussed in the opening at the meeting. New Business The Electrical Board discussed the permit activity for 1997 as well as the change in our contractor registration policy, thru the year 2000.
