The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Chairman Peters. The minutes of
November 19, 1991, were read and approved on a motion by Mr. Smiley, supported
by Mr. Lutz. Motion carried unanimously.
HOMEOWNER PERMITS: None
OLD BUSINESS: The Board discussed the fact that the Building Safety Division is
preparing for the installation of new power and data equipment cables for the new
computer equipment. There was discussion on the various cables involved with the
work stations by a cable installer rather than an electrical contractor.
NEW BUSINESS: The Board discussed at length the application and administration
of both PA 54, Registration and Education for Electrical Inspectors and PA 246,
Licensing and Registration for Electrician & Apprentices. Both of these laws
were backed by the Department of Labor, Construction Codes, Electrical Division.
The Board also discussed and examined the listing and manufacturing
specifications for a new product on the market. This product is the Generation
"2" Smoke Alarm that can be used in conjunction with light fixtures. However,
it is not a product that is approved for all applications.
The meeting adjourned at 9: 10 p.m. on a motion by Mr. Lutz, supported by Mr.
Smiley. Motion carried.

The meeting was called to order at 7: 10 p.m. by Chairman Peters. The minutes of

HOMEOWNER PERMITS: None
OLD BUSINESS: The Board discussed the fact that the Building Safety Division is

1991, were read and approved on a motion by Mr. Morris, supported by Mr. Todd.
Motion carried unanimously.
HOMEOWNER PERMITS: Mr. Rollin Harris submitted drawings and a service spot for

were read and approved on a motion made by Mr. Morris, supported by Mr. Lutz.
Motion carried unanimously.
HOMEOWNER PERMITS: Mr. & Mrs. Lindy Catlin and Dave Chomos, of 520 Filley, made
application for an electrical permit to install 100 amp service at the above
address. The Board was presented plans and sketches for examination for code
compliance.
There was a motion made by Mr. Lutz, supported by Mr. Peters. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS: The Members briefly discussed filling the position of Journeyman
Representative on the Board. One of the Members stated that there is an
individual who is interested in the position and would be contacting the Building
Safety Director to discuss the position.
There was discussion regarding the new 1993 Code proposals and new electrical
products on the market and their usage.
NEW BUSINESS: The Board discussed, at length, the importance of ethics for any
and all compliance officers and inspectors. The importance of establishing and
maintaining good repore with the public at—large was stressed.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.

The Board reviewed plans/sketches for proper code compliance. On a motion made
by Mr. Lutz, supported by Mr. Todd, the permit was granted. Motion carried.
Mr. Vernon MacKenzie of 542 E. Williard made application for an electrical permit
for his home.
The Board reviewed plans/sketches for proper code compliance. A motion was made
by Mr. Todd, supported by Mr. Lutz to approve the application. Motion carried.
Mr. Stephen L. Maiville made application for an electrical permit to install 200
amp service at 1826 Briarwood.
The Board reviewed plans/sketeches for proper code compliance. A motion was made
by Mr. Lutz, supported by Mr. Todd to approve the application. Motion carried.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from June 18, 1991,
were read and approved on a motion by Mr. Todd, supported by Mr. Peters. Motion
carried unanimously.
HOMEOWNER PERMITS: There were no applicants seeking permits. However, there was
discussion about a previous homeowner that made application in error of City
Ordinance.
The Board recinded the application of Ron Sadler, 3107 Palmer Street, because he
did not live at the address. A motion was made by Mr. Peters, supported by Mr.
Todd. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS: The Electrical Board completed the task of selecting and voting
for a new Chairman. A nomination of Mr. Peters for Chairman was made by Mr.
Lutz, supported by Mr. Todd. The nomination was accepted, and supported
unanimously.

an electrical permit to install 100 amp service at the above address.
The Board thoroughly examined all plans/sketches for proper safety and code
compliance. A motion was made by Mr. Peters, supported by Mr. Todd, that the
permit be issued contingent upon the owner suppling the proper service spot from
the Board of Water and Light.

NEW BUSINESS: The Board briefly discussed the changing fiscal policy and its
administration come July 1, 1991.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lutz at 7: 15 p.m. There were no
minutes from March 19, 1991, due to a lack of quorum.
HOMEOWNER PERMITS: None
OLD BUSINESS: The Board again discussed House Bill 5168, P.A. 246 and its effect
on the electrical industry. There was also discussion on a Senate Bill that was
to restrain P.A. 246 from going into effect April 1, 1991.
NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Peters reported that he was recently at Indiana Power & Light
to assist them in repair of their damaged power lines and equipment from a recent
series of storms and tornandoes in that area.
. The Chairman informed the Board Members that he had received a request from the
Mayor' s Office to up—date each Board Members correct spelling of name, address
and phone number. Chairman Lutz also stated that a new Chairman would be chosen
at the July meeting.

unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS: The Board again reviewed Schedule "D" for Fiscal Year 91-92.
Having examined the various unit prices, the Board suggested changes in many
areas, and approved these increases. There has been a very conscious effort by
the Board to work closely with the Director of Building Safety on fiscal matters.
