HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOLICE AND FIRE RETIREMENT RULES OF PROCEDURE Police & Fire Retirement System Rules of Procedure §kad UPC 12410 No.2150_ �fi°osr.coNs°�� HABTING$, MN RULES ADO.MD .BY BOARD Or, TRUSTEES OF POLICEMENS AND FIREBENS RETIREMENT SYSTEM (Not inziuding Election Rules) Rule No. 1: It was moved and supported that twelve months of service in a calendar year shall constitute a year of service; provided, that the Board may in its discretion, allow service credit of not more tnan oae mouth's uuration, in a calendar year, during which a member is absent from service, without pay, due to illness; provided further, that the Board may allow such service credit not to exceed one month, in other cases which in the Board's opinion the circus-- stances justify such credit, provided that within thirty (30) days after the end of the calendar year the Secretary shall notify, in writing, all members (new and part time employees excepted) not having twelve (12) mouths of ser- vice credit for the preceding calendar year, of such fact Including in such notice a copy, of this rule and that his request therefore must be filed with the Secretary prior to the meeting of the trustees, to be held on the 3rd Tuesday in February, At such meeting and at no other said request shall be considered by the Board, except that the same may be adjourned for further investigation and hearing. Adopted 3/21/44 Amended 10/17/44 Amended 1/14/46 Rule No. 2: Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lensing Policemens and Firemens Retirement System that all retirement system vouchers must be signed by two members of the Board of Trustees and the Secretary and in the absences of the Secretary, the Deputy Controller is authorized to sign for him, add that previous rule No. 2 adopted 3/21/44 be and is hereby rescinded. Rule No. 3: Resolved by the Board of Trustoes of the City of Lansing Policemens and Firemens Retirement System that effective this date the "'3tandard Annuity Mortality 'Table" be adopted for the Policemens and Firemens Retirement System and the use of the "Combined Annuity Mortality Table" be discontinued. 6/25/56 Rule No. 4: It was moved and supported that funds of the Retirement System shall be credited to the several accounts as named in Chapter 28 of the City Charter, but the assets may be co-mingled, and that the liabilities of each fund are to be charged against the assets of the entire Retirement System, Carried.
