Meeting of February 13,2002
Minutes.
Attending William Hubbell, chair; Bonnie Bennett, Maria
Enriquez, Vice Chair; and Lee June.
1. Minutes of the December meeting were approved.
2. Letter from the Parks board about Plaques in Cooley Garden
was read.
3. It was announced that General services committee had moved
the Ordinance revision to the full council, that
Public Hearing would be set for February 18 and Council
President Larry Meyer expects swift passage after that.
4. Maria reported that The Caesar Chavez commission will be
holding a dinner the week before Easter on Friday March 22'
That they are still examining the results of their forums and have
Not come to any agreement on a memorial.
5.The Avenue of Michigan article from the January 30th
Lansing Pulse was read and it was stated that we do not have
anything officially before us on this but when it comes- it is part of
the function of this board to smooth things out and facilitate
Matters so as to and avoid the stench that accompanied the
handling of Grand Avenue.
6. It was reported that we have three vacancies on the board.
A couple of suggestions came forward. Dave might speak to
someone about a small space on the city web site for the MRB
And maybe a scroll message on city TV announcing that we are
looking for people to fill these vacancies and application could be
made to the Mayors office.
o The motion was made by Lee June and seconded by Bonnie
Bennett to retain the current officers for another year. The
motion passed unanimously.
