BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MEETING MINUTES
Tuesday, November 19, 2024
Location: Lansing Police Department Headquarters, 120 W. Michigan Avenue., Lansing, MI
The Board of Police Commissioners met in regular session and the meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
by Chairperson Jones.
Present: Commission Members: Brewster, Cotton, Farhan, Farhat, Jones, and Milton.
Also Present: Chief Robert Backus, City Attorney Lisa Hagen-Lawrence, Commission Investigator A’Keydra Abrams and
Ruth Grant
Excused Absence: Commissioner Bitely.
Motion carried to accept and excuse the absence by Commissioner Brewster and seconded by Commissioner Milton.
Yeas: 6
Nay: 0
Public attendees: 3
Roll call was taken, and quorum present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance led by Chair Jones.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Chair Jones moved to approve the agenda. Commissioner Brewster made the motion to approve
with Commissioner Farhat seconding the motion.

Commissioner Jones placed a motion to for approval of the agenda
a) October 15, 2024, Minutes of Meeting
b) October 2024 Department Reports.
Commissioner Brewster made the motion with Commissioner Farhat seconding the motion.

Motion carried by Commissioner Milton and seconded by Commissioner Brewster. Meeting ended at 6:19 pm.
