I am writing in regard to the proposed name change from Grand River Avenue to Cesar
Chavez Avenue. Grand River Avenue runs through the heart of Old Town Lansing and is the
main thorough fair for the community. Though we appreciate the group, Lansing for Cesar
OTCA Board Members Chavez, requesting our input and support in their efforts to change the name of Grand River
Don McNabb,President Avenue, the Old Town Commercial-Association (OTCA) cannot support the change.

Clark Hill PLC found that the majority of business owners on Grand River Ave within the Old Town district
Karen Stefl,Secretary are not in favor. Though everyone we talked to was in favor of honoring Cesar Chavez for his
Such Video,Inc. commitment to his cause,businesses felt the street name change places too large a financial
burden on both them and the city, especially in these extremely tougheconomic times.
