HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Service Board Minutes for June 13, 2024REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF PUBLIC SERVICE JUNE 13, 2024 PRESENT: Thomas Hickson, Nancy Mahlow, Hugh McNichol, Samara Morgan, and Jon Scott ABSENT: Jason Wilkes, and Ronald Wilson STAFF:Joseph Castillo, Andy Kilpatrick, and Keith Moss VISITORS: Deborah Mulcahey 1) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Hickson called the meeting to order at 11:34 a.m., at the City of Lansing City Hall. a. Roll Call b. Excused Absences: Jason Wilkes, and Ronald Wilson 2) ADJUSTMENTS/APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Chair Hickson requested approval of the agenda, Mr. Scott moved, Ms. Mahlow seconded, MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, to approve the agenda as submitted. 3) APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES: May 9, 2024 Chair Hickson requested approval of the minutes, Ms. Mahlow moved, Mr. Scott seconded, MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, to approve the minutes as submitted. 4) CITIZEN COMMENTS: Ms. Mulcahey spoke to the board on the following issues: 4th Ward board member needs filled, safety on roads and speeding, crosswalks are needed at all corners, MLK project on hold, and hard to pay parking downtown. 5) ACTION ITEMS: None 6) REPORT OF OFFICERS: Property Management Division: A written report was distributed. Mr. Castillo gave a brief overview of the report. Discussion and questions followed. 7) DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Director Kilpatrick reported on the following: MLK project, Michigan Avenue project, 127 ramp closures, rate study/letters, universal trash, new positions, and new City Hall location. Public Service Board Page 2 June 13, 2024 8) UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Chair Hickson requested an update on the Parking Regulation Request: Cambridge Downs Subdivision. Director Kilpatrick stated he should have an update next month after his meeting with the city attorney. 9) NEW BUSINESS: None 10)COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION ITEMS: a. Election of Officers – July meeting b.
