HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Service Board Minutes for May 9, 2024REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF PUBLIC SERVICE MAY 9, 2024 PRESENT: Thomas Hickson, Nancy Mahlow, Hugh McNichol, and Jon Scott ABSENT: Samara Morgan, Jason Wilkes, and Ronald Wilson STAFF:Carl Denison, Andy Kilpatrick, and Keith Moss VISITORS: None 1) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Hickson called the meeting to order at 11:34 a.m., at the City of Lansing Fleet Service Division. a. Roll Call b. Excused Absences: Samara Morgan, Jason Wilkes, and Ronald Wilson 2) ADJUSTMENTS/APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Chair Hickson requested approval of the agenda with an addition under New Business, Mr. McNichol moved, Ms. Mahlow seconded, MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, to approve the agenda with addition. 3) APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES: April 11, 2024 Chair Hickson requested approval of the minutes, Ms. Mahlow moved, Mr. Scott seconded, MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY, to approve the minutes as submitted. 4) CITIZEN COMMENTS: None 5) ACTION ITEMS: None 6) REPORT OF OFFICERS: Fleet Services Division: A written report was distributed. Mr. Denison gave a brief overview of the report. Discussion and questions followed. 7) DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Director Kilpatrick reported on the following: budget meetings, MLK project on hold, Michigan Avenue project start, and new City Hall location. 8) UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Parking Regulation Request: #023-012 Cambridge Downs Subdivision. Resolution was sent to Council, Public Service Board Page 2 May 9, 2024 they are looking at a broader, city-wide parking regulations. Will remain as unfinished business for updates. Traffic Control Request: #23-014 Jerome Street/Marshall Street traffic signal – signal test on hold during construction. Will remain under unfinished business. 9) NEW BUSINESS: Trash Bins: Ticketing when left in the right-of-way, and Universal Trash was discussed. OCA Ethics Training for Board and Committees was completed by all members. 10)COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION ITEMS: Property Management Meeting and tour at City Hall 7th floor conference room, for June meeting 11)ITEMS FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE RULES: None 12)PUBLIC COMMENTS: None 13)ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned for a tour of Fleet Services at 12:24 p.m. Respectfully submitted by, Janette Tate, Recording Secretary
