HomeMy WebLinkAboutLansing Gateway CIA Meeting Minutes 7.16.24 f{ffJ•r��`S f�.. 4 Pi i Andy Schor,Mayor Lansing Gateway Corridor Improvement Authority Board of Directors Monthly Meeting July 16'h 2024, @ 3pm Peckham Inc. 3510 Capital City Blvd, Lansing, MI 48906 Board Room Members Present: Robert Benstein, Steven Bohnet, Bob Vanarkel Members Absent: Dianne Hartwell, Jo Sperry Facilitator Present: Alex Watkins (Lansing EDC) Guests Present: Public: Recorded by: Alex Watkins (Lansing EDC) Call to Order/ Roll Call President Benstein calls meeting to order at 3:07 pm Approval of Meeting Minutes - Action MOTION: Vanarkel motioned to approve the June Lansing Gateway Meeting Minutes, seconded by Benstein YEAS: unanimous Approval of landscaping estimates- Action Washington went over the estimates. Questions about current maintenance and do we need to contact the city. Washington will follow up with permits, and city communications. Bohnet talked to Travis Sparks with BWL about lighting along the corridor. Talked about safety for light impacts the street or sidewalk. There are two proposals, one installation and one for maintenance. Benstein recommended we add an extra 10%percent contingency, for a total amount not to exceed $11,000. MOTION: Vanarkel, seconded by Bohnet YEAS: unanimous Update on the Lansing Gateway CIA Development and TIF Plan Washington will present to the city council for presentation Monday July 22nd and also talked about next steps for public comment. August 26th is the date for public comment. Asked board members to attend both meetings. Update on ARPA fund balance $100,000 - ARPA Budget $57000- Cedam $110.66 - Survey $11,000 - beautification $5,000-Street sign toppers $4,000- MSU practicum $250- communications software Balance = $74,639.34 Corridor facade grants The board discussed a cleanup day, facade plan, public works (community and arts) and also talked about business assistance grants. Projects Discussion Other Business Washington talked about the street topper installation. The public service has started putting up signs at street level. Washington also discussed the possibility of putting signage on the street line wire hanging above the street.
