February 15th 2024, 1 pm

Call to Order/ Roll Call: Dobernick called meeting to order at 1:03 pm Approval of Meeting Minutes – Action: S. MLKCIA didn’t have enough
members for quorum, so no vote was taken to approve minutes.
Thriving Communities Update: Buitendorp went deeper into the Thriving
Communities Grant. Buitendorp spoke about the visit from Christi from ACEEE.
She also discussed the electric vehicles grant and how we may be able to
match is grant with Thriving Communities Grant. Answered questions about
funding opportunities as well as projects (Pleasant and Holmes) that can be
completed using these funds. She also explained hoe US census data was used
to determine what areas of Lansing qualified for this grant over other sections of
Lansing. Information and update to CATA bus Stops: A representative from the Kingdom
Ministries Church is planning on attending the CIA meeting in March.
Vote on 2024 Meeting Schedule and Board Elections: S. MLKCIA didn’t have
enough members for quorum, so no vote was taken on elections or schedule.
Schidgall was in attendance but has not been voted on to the board. She
should be voted in by the next meeting.
Other Business: the board and guest spent talking about the Development and
Finance Plan for S. MLK to find additional projects for APRA funding. Time was
also spent looking at other CIA projects for ideas to use on S. MLK.
Public Comment: Yolanda a resident of Capital City Apartments expressed
gratitude for the CIA, had questions about how what the CIA’s abilities were
and also how to be apart as away of giving back to the community. She also
express interest in helping people who may be getting released from prison or
may have had substance abuse issues.
Adjournment: Dobernick adjourned meeting at 1:58 pm
