Call to Order/ Roll Call
Benstein called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. Roll call was called by
Christian and recorded for public record.
Approval of Lansing Gateway CIA Meeting Minutes (April 18, 2023) - Action
MOTION: Sinha moved to approve the Lansing Gateway CIA Meeting Minutes
from April 18, 2023. Motion seconded by Bohnet.
YEAS: Unanimous. Motion Carried.
Approval of Lansing Gateway CIA Informational Meeting #1 Minutes (April 18,
2023) - Action
MOTION: Sinha moved to approve the Lansing Gateway CIA Informational
Meeting #1 Minutes from April 18, 2023. Motion seconded by Bohnet.
YEAS: Unanimous. Motion Carried.
MDOT Discussion
Bohnet shared that he reached out to MDOT and that they have a plan for the
corridor. Discussion continued around problems with the crosswalk near the
airport entrance and finding federal grants to address it. Bohnet shared that
MDOT is willing to attend a future meeting to discuss with the board. Benstein
discussed the informational meeting with Jonathon Lukco of the Saginaw Street
CIA and Price Dobernick with the S.MLK CIA and some of the ideas discussed at
that meeting. Christian mentioned having Andy Fedewa to come into discuss the
master plan updates with the board. Bohnet discussed creating physical materials
to distribute to corridor businesses and residents. Bohnet discussed connecting
with BWL for corridor related issues.
Lansing River Trail Discussion
Discussion around the routes of the river trail. The board discussed the idea of
working with the city to expand the river trail to the airport.
Projects Discussion
Discussion around what was shared at the informational meeting by the board
chairs of the other CIAs. The board discussed partnering with other organizations,
and how the board can be used to voice the needs of the corridor. The board
discussed the idea of segmenting the corridor based on its unique areas.
Discussion continued.
Other Business
Christian read an email from Zachary Driver regarding an update to code
enforcement of trash receptacles and properties on the corridor he is working
with. The board discussed a potential match program to place a screen for trash
receptacles and if the city would be willing to partner.

MOTION: Bohnet moved to adjourn the meeting. Motion seconded by Hartwell.
YEAS: Unanimous. Motion Carried.
