Excused: Isaac F., Kim W Meeting called to order at 6:33 PM Foster Center Board Meeting Minutes May 10, 2023 Approved by Joan L., seconded by Tristan W., -passed unanimously. New Business A. Ingham Park – a response to the traffic at the park was discussed. A solution at this time was to distribute 2 large orange cones. Mike D., will follow up to see if this measure has had a positive impact on the parking and turning around situation. B. 144 Stonewood Dr. Act33 Fairway Lot – the Ingham County Drain Commissioner has asked to purchase land the parks department maintains. This property has no construction on site. This property would be part of an ongoing work for the Montgomery drain. Proposal to sell the property by Rick K., second by Nate S., 4 yes, 1 no. C. Playground Plan – 8 and wait is the game plan for next year CIP projects. The board will receive 2 recommendations from the Director of Parks in each of the wards that are in the most need for repair and update. The board will review, make recommendations, present options to local interested community members with input on choices and options. D. Ranney Park Skate Park – money will be used for updates and infrastructure needs. If bids are required, they will be sought out. E. Sycamore Park – Director will meet with state agency regarding licensing and park use while Fenner is in session with day camp. Public lands and limited access are the discussion points. Old Business A. Public Participation Policy – tabled for next mtg. B. Glen Eden Pak Naturalization – members of the community responded to a survey with approximately 91% of the immediate community expressing opinion to continue the upkeep and maintenance of the park mowing program. Members present from the community are interested in the Tree Planting program and how they can support that at this park. Director will assist with information and keep the neighborhood abreast of future tree planting projects. Updates A. Park Board Member -New member will join us at next mtg if approved by council. B. Park and Program update: Projects are currently underway. Review of video on programs. Correspondence a. Ingham Park Parking and Trash - Response from Mayors office and the director. Cones have been dropped off. Follow-up with Park Bd President to review success. b. Dunnebacke Park – neighbors expressed changes in the play equipment for their park. Made recommendations. c. Crego Park – President has talked with a neighbor next to the gate. Concern has been expressed people are unable to exit the park when the gates are locked. If on a bike must exit off Aurelius or down to Kalamazoo. Cars can exit as they approach the closed gate. Meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm. - Minutes submitted by Joan L. Approved September 13, 2023
