Capitol Ave. at 6:00 pm, JANUARY 26, 2023 The January 26,2023 meeting of the City of Lansing Demolition Board was called to order at 6:04 p.m. by D. Muylle. The following members were in attendance: MEMBERS ABSENT: Dave Muylle, Joe Vitale STAFF PRESENT: Scott Sanford, Lynne Puente PUBLIC PRESENT: Fady Aibout, Arz Aibout OLD BUSINESS: Minutes from the December 1, 2022 Demolition board members Dave Muylle and Joe Vitale read thru the minutes from the December 1, 2022, meeting Dave Muylle made the motion to approve Joe Vitale seconded the motion. New Business: . Case No: D2022-008 Address: 141 E. Barnes Ave. Scott Sanford read the case overview sheet and noted to the board this is a long-term Red Tagged property it was tagged on July 2,2014. The owner was in attendance along with his son Arz Aibout. Lynne Puente handed them back the representative form as it was not filled out correctly and the signatures were not notarized. Lynne noted to the owner and his son that the son could still talk for his father as this is an open meeting. Mr. Muylle asked Mr. Fady Aibout what his plans are for the property. Mr. Fady Aibout stated that he intends to hire a contractor to do said repairs. Mr. Fady Aibout noted that the furnace and cooper pipes were stolen they were holding off on having the permits applied for as they were unsure what the outcome of this meeting was going to be. Mr. Muylle reminded them they will need all licensed contractors. Mr. Fady Aibout and his son Mr. Arz Aibout requested a 60 day extension they said by that time they will have permits in place to repair the home. Mr. Sanford stated that they now will need to bring the home up to current code they have more items that need to be repaired as the Building Safety Department they will need to complete the list of repairs and also satisfy the Building Safety Department. Mr. Vitale noted to the owner that in the future it is always helpful to see permits in place by the time of the meeting. Mr. Fady Aibout said he now understands if he has any other properties that may come before the board he will have the project started he has never had a property be heard at the Demolition Board and was unsure of the process. Case No: D2023-002 Address: 318 Clifford St. Scott Sanford read the case overview sheet and noted to the board this property was tagged on 4/28/2022 the owner for this property is not in attendance they did sign for the certified letter for tonight’s demolition board meeting and noted to the board this property has sever foundation issues that need to be addressed. Mr. Vitale looked thru the file that included interior and exterior pictures of the crumbing foundation. The foundation issues are able to be seen from the exterior as it is crumbling and falling into the home. Officer Castillo had the structure boarded up on 9/16/2022 when she was there to get updated photo’s for the demolition file. J. Vitale ruled: 60 days make safe or demolish. Mr. Sanford addressed the board updating them that Officer Walter Allen is now interim Lead Housing Inspector he is tasked with going thru the long term Red Tagged homes those that qualify will be brought in front of the board they will be seeing an increase in the amount of cases that we will be hearing. Lynne Puente noted that she has about 12-15 properties that need to be heard. PUBLIC COMMENT: None ADJOURNMENT: At 6:30 PM, S.
