CALL TO ORDER: 6:33 P.M. Foster Community Center
I.ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: Dombrowski added Larch Park, subcommittee
formation, summer board meetings. Kaschinske added new board members.
II.BOARD MEETING MINUTES
March 9, 2022 - Dombrowski approved the March minutes as submitted; James seconded. Motion carried 5-0

A. Parks Foundation Board
B. Park Use After Dark
Revisit in May
C. Playground Input
Presenting recommendations to council in 2 weeks, divide replacements out across wards, with a
destination park in each ward.
D. Acquisition of 927 S Grand
Kibbey moved to acquire 927 S. Grand from Ingham County Land Bank. Whitfield seconds. Passes 4-0, with
James abstaining.
E. Larch Park
History of problems within the park, there is a need to improve borders and clean up brush. Most of the
dumping that takes place in that area is technically not in the park.
F. Subcommittee formation
Dombrowski proceeding with subcommittee on park activation and usage after dark
G. Summer board meeting
Should the board meet in a park instead of at Foster? Revisiting next meeting.
H. New board members
Isaac Francisco present, has submitted application to serve on the board but has yet to be approved by City
Council.

A. Parks Updates – follow up on work orders
Kaschinske reported on homeless outreach from MSU Vet Med and Homeless Angels at Reutter Park, as
well as Main St program opportunities through MEDC and efforts to create a market around Reutter Park.
Also summarized status of work orders completed and breakdown of type of work order.

IX. STATEMENTS OF CITIZENS
All meetings of the Park Board shall be open to the public. Those in attendance shall have the opportunity to
speak on any issue related to parks and recreation services not otherwise on the agenda at the end of the
meeting and may speak on any agenda issue during the meeting after park board members have had an
opportunity to discuss the issue or prior to the board voting on the issue. The President may impose a time
limit on public comments.
Pete Bosheft (Friends of Bancroft) provided an update on Friends Of group and comments about proposed
parks usage after dark.
